Our story begins in January 1970 in an old garage on Hamilton's Myrtle Avenue. Frank Hoffer, a Hungarian native opened shop offering his services as a trained plumber and gas-fitter. Fairness, quality service, and an unrelenting spirit grew the business and left a lasting impression on the community. Due to the rising demand, the business was relocated in 1972. Subsequently, in 1978 ground was broken for the construction of a new facility located at 460 Grays Rd where we still operate today.
Frank and his wife Hilda devoted their lives to the business and encouraged their two children Michael and Christine to gain experience at their company. As the years ticked by and the scope of work delivered by Hoffer Mechanical grew, a group of 4 dedicated employees formed. Manny Lemos, Ben Rathe, Dirk Rathe, and Pat Powell unwaveringly stood by the side of the Hoffer family and believed in the future of the business. In the summer 2002, Frank Hoffer passed away after a long-fought battle with cancer. Hoffer Mechanical was once again struck by tragedy in December 2004 with the sudden and unexpected loss of Michael.
In response to these devastating losses, the four aforementioned employees purchased and began operating Hoffer Mechanical. Today Hoffer Mechanical is run by Manny Lemos. A tradition of fairness and quality continue to serve as our promise to all customers.
